Palma Old Town

Good for the cathedral, ensaimadas and a good run of coffee and wine bars.

La Seu and the Almudaina Palace anchor the old town, and everything else is a short walk from them. Ca'n Joan de s'Aigo was founded around 1700 and still serves ensaimadas and hot chocolate, Bar Bosch is the square-side standby, and Celler de sa Premsa does Mallorcan cooking among wine barrels, open since 1958. For coffee try Nano Coffee Lab, Mistral and Bacan, and for wine La Rosa Vermuteria and la viniloteca. The lanes are shaded and the cathedral is cooler than the street. Go early, before the cruise groups arrive.
