Good for a junction with a few good rooms around it.

Plaça de Catalunya is the junction rather than the destination, and the streets around it are department stores, hotels and a lot of mediocre lunch. The exceptions are close. Dos Palillos does Asian small plates at a counter, Dalston Coffee and Syra handle the beans, and Llibreria Finestres is a proper independent bookshop. A terrace on the square itself is paying rent, not cooking.
