Good for five museums on one island and a palace with a view from the top.

The Neues Museum holds the Egyptian collection, the Alte Nationalgalerie the nineteenth-century painting, and the Humboldt Forum sits inside the rebuilt palace with views from above. The Pergamonmuseum is the famous name, so check what is open before you queue. The DDR Museum across the water is hands-on and quicker. Pick two, not five.
