Good for sushi, a jazz club and old West Berlin bars.

Savignyplatz is old West Berlin at its most intact, and dinner is better than the postcard suggests. 893 Ryōtei does a minimalist sushi tasting menu, Sachiko Sushi sends plates round on little boats, and Madame Ngo does Hanoi-style pho and banh mi. A-Trane is the jazz club, with musicians playing every night, and Zwiebelfisch is the bar to end up in. Book at the weekend.
