Good for fado houses, rooftops and cocktails on steep streets.
Bairro Alto is a hill of small streets, and the evening is the point of it. O Faia is the fado house, with traditional dishes alongside the music, and Machimbombo is the pink-walled cocktail bar for afterwards. Park Rooftop and Lumi Rooftop sell the view, and the Miradouro de São Pedro de Alcântara gives it away free from a terrace of fountains and sculptures. Casanostra does the pasta and Água Pela Barba the octopus. Eat before the bars fill.
