Hampstead is a village that refused to be absorbed, and the Heath is why anyone makes the trip north. The Holly Bush is the pub, up a set of steps and worth the finding, Ginger & White does the coffee, and the swimming ponds are the local ritual whatever the weather is doing. The Freud Museum is the quiet surprise.
