Everyone walks the South Bank and almost nobody turns left into Leake Street, where the graffiti tunnel gets repainted most weeks. The BFI mediatheque is free and nearly empty, Forza Wine's terrace at the National Theatre has one of the better river views, and the Lost Property Office pours drinks inside the station itself. Twenty minutes off the main drag changes the whole day.
