Duomo

Good for the cathedral terraces, fried pizza pockets and aperitivo with a view.

The Duomo is the obvious start and the terraces are worth the climb. Terrazza Aperol and Camparino in Galleria sell the aperitivo with the cathedral in frame, Panzerotti Luini has locals queueing for fried pizza pockets, and Cracco and Giacomo Arengario handle the dinner you book ahead. The Museo del Novecento and Palazzo Reale are the rainy-day answers. Eat one street off the piazza, not on it.
