Greenwich Village
Good for the park at Washington Square, red-sauce dinners and old Italian delis on Bleecker.
Greenwich Village runs from Washington Square Park down into the old Italian South Village. Carbone is the red-sauce dinner you book the moment tables release. Faicco's Italian Specialties is still on Bleecker for sandwiches and sausages, and Little Branch is the basement bar when the night needs a second act. Walk Bleecker Street for the food and skip the chain shops.
