Lower East Side
Good for pastrami at Katz's, smoked fish at Russ and Daughters and wine bars on Orchard and Broome Streets.
The Lower East Side is still the best argument for eating your way through a neighbourhood. Katz's Delicatessen does the pastrami, Russ and Daughters does the smoked fish, and Una Pizza Napoletana covers the pizza. At night the wine bars take over, with Wildair and The Ten Bells both worth a seat. Katz's hands you a ticket on the way in. Keep hold of it.
