NoLIta
Good for square pepperoni slices, red-sauce Italian and a charity bookshop.
Nolita is a few blocks of Mulberry and Elizabeth Street and it is mostly for eating. Prince Street Pizza is the square pepperoni slice with the queue, Rubirosa does the vodka pie sitting down, and Emilio's Ballato has been open since 1956 and takes no reservations. Housing Works Bookstore is the quiet stop, with secondhand books and a cafe. Go on a weekday before noon, when the queues are still short.
