Bolhão
Good for the market, queues for pastéis de nata and bifanas at the counter.
Mercado do Bolhão is back open across two floors, and the streets around it are where Porto eats cheaply and well. Conga does hot bifanas with a cold beer, Pedro dos Frangos grills chicken for the locals, and Bolhão a Gosto cooks traditional food with tables outside. Confeitaria do Bolhão still has a daily queue for pastries, and Manteigaria turns out pastéis de nata hot from the oven. For a longer dinner, Almeja and Gruta run the inventive menus. Come hungry and before the lunch rush.
