Nishi-Azabu
Good for tasting menus, tempura and counter sushi.
Nishi-Azabu is a restaurant district with the clutter of Roppongi removed. L'Effervescence does French-Japanese tasting menus, Tempuraya Miyakawa and Nishiazabu Tempura Uoshin do tempura, butagumi does tonkatsu, and Isana Sushi Bar is one of several tiny sushi counters. Gonpachi Nishi-Azabu is the loud, theatrical one, and Blue Note Tokyo puts jazz with dinner. Many of the counters seat a handful of people, so book ahead.
