Rialto
Good for the fish market, cicchetti bars and the bridge itself.
Mercato di Rialto sells fish, vegetables and local goods right on the water, and the bars around it are the reason to be hungry. Cantina Do Mori has been pouring wine and serving cicchetti since the 15th century, and Enoteca Al Volto, Bar All'Arco and Al Mercà are within a few steps. Osteria Bancogiro and Ca' D'oro alla Vedova, known for its meatballs, cover a sit-down meal. The Fondaco dei Tedeschi has a rooftop terrace over the canal. Do your eating here one street back from the bridge, not on it.
